Elegant Intimacy: A Beautiful Zakynthos Wedding

Brittney and Rayce’s wedding on Zakynthos Island was nothing short of a dreamy escape.

This intimate celebration, attended by just 16 close friends and family, showcased elegance and personal touches. From the gorgeous Greek-inspired KYHA dress to the ocean views, every detail was chosen to reflect their love story and shared adventures. And, it goes without saying, that Rayce’s light tan suit deserves a mention; perfect choice!

The Love Story

Rayce and I have known each other since childhood, growing up less than a mile apart. Our first date was at a humble snow cone stand in town during the summer.

After high school, we attended Texas A&M University together. Our Aggie rings, pictured beside our wedding rings, symbolize our accomplishments at Texas A&M. They create an instant connection between Aggies long after leaving the university.

During graduation, The Association of Former Students leads a ritual where Aggies turn their rings to face the world proudly. After graduation, Rayce proposed on the beach, surrounded by our closest family and friends, with my dream ring.

Wedding Planning

Once we began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to have an intimate ceremony with our closest family and friends. According to Greek mythology, Artemis was said to roam the Zakynthian forests which inspired my wedding dress.

While researching destination weddings, we fell in love with Zakynthos. It’s unspoiled natural environment spoke to us.

The Big Day

Our Zakynthos wedding was everything we wanted and more. The island was beautiful, and the hospitality of the residents and vendors was unmatched. The morning started with special moments shared with friends and family, creating memories that we’ll cherish forever.

When I found my dress, the ruching reminded me of the marble bust statues depicting Greek goddesses like Artemis. This seemed perfect for a Greek wedding. Artemis also inspired our decision regarding florals. As the goddess of purity, white roses accompanied with greenery seemed the perfect choice. The simplicity and elegance was exactly what I hoped for.

Fashion

Rayce looked incredibly dashing in his light tan suit, which perfectly complemented the serene, coastal environment of Zakynthos. The bridesmaids wore elegant satin dresses in a harmonious palette, blending beautifully with the natural surroundings.

Reflections and Advice for Other Couples

Our journey has taught us that love is not defined by grand gestures or extravagant moments. It’s found in the simplest joys and shared experiences of everyday life. As we stand on the precipice of forever, we are grateful for the love we found on that summer day at the snow cone stand. All was just perfect.
